An amazing £400 was raised for Comic Relief. Thanks to everybody for their generosity!

Published: 25th March 2017

An amazing £400 was raised for Comic Relief. Thanks to everybody for their generosity! The children had a fantastic day - we heard several jokes; saw some amazingly funny costumes (and that was just the staff!); decorated and bought 'funny' biscuits made by Y2 and Y6; guessed the number of funny sweets in the funny jar; filled the 'nose' in the Hall with change; sang the 'Red Nose Day' song in Assembly, accompanied by some Y5 dancers and most importantly, heard from pupils in Y2 and 4 about WHY we were raising money for Comic Relief. We watched a video clip of a 12 year old boy called Hassan, who had been left orphaned after his Mum died of Ebola. Money from Comic Relief has really helped him and given him the opportunity of returning to school - without this support, he would not have been able to buy books, pens etc - things we all take for granted at Cofton. Here is Hassan's story: https://www.rednoseday.com/schools/primary/learning-resources
